Problem:Â
When viewing the website locally with Internet Explorer, a message appears: 'Active X' or 'This page requires Javascript'
Cause:Â
With Javascript, the configuration of Internet Explorer is more restrictive with local files than files coming from the Internet.
This message does not appear on websites that are transfered online when viewing files on the server.Â
You won't get an error message when viewing with Firefox or Chrome because there are no such restrictions on local files.
Solution:Â
1) Use a different browser to view local files (the problem only occurs with Internet Explorer)
2) Change the security setting in Internet Explorer:Â
-Â Go to the Tools menu and select Internet Options.Â
- Go to the "Advanced" tab. In the list of the options, you will find "Security" toward the bottom.Â
- Check "Authorize active contents to execute files in the Local Zone".
